Weekly podcast focuses on economic development

It all started with Cinemark and Menards, and then branched out into other new businesses like PizzaPapalis, Panera Bread, Primanti Bros., Grimaldi's ... the list goes on. The City of Taylor has been very successful in economic development, and that is discussed during this week's podcast.

Economic Development Director George Sutherland joins Mayor Rick Sollars, host Dr. Paul Reeves and Karl Ziomek for a discussion of the ins and outs of economic development in Taylor.

Getting new businesses -- and retaining older ones -- is not just about real estate. It's about how businesses are treated. Under the Sollars Administration, the City has focused hard on both business recruitment and business retention.

"It's about saying 'yes' and then figuring out a way," said Sutherland. Mayor Sollars added, "It's all about who do we get to 'yes.'"
