A fundraiser is scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at the Taylor VFW Hall, 11590 Pine Street, for the family of the late Scott Persia.
Mr. Persia, 43, passed away February 26, 2017. He was just 43. His father Brian is a longtime member of the Taylor Auxiliary.
Mr. Persia died of of grade IV Glioblastoma just 16 days after being diagnosed.
All donations are welcome during the fundraiser, which includes a cash bar, food, bake sale, face painting, prizes, sports memorabilia and more.

A resident of Allen Park, he is survived by his wife Maria and daughter Mia Lou; parents Brian and Judith Persia; sister Sherrill (Timothy) Krusac; grandmother Emily Guminski; mother-in-law Angie Savone; sister-in-law Teresa (Brandon) Savone-Papazian; brothers-in-law Mario (Jennifer) Savone and Anthony Savone; nephew Ethan; nieces Adriana and Nina; aunt Pat Guminski and uncle Tom (Sally) Guminski.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Martenson Funeral Home, 10915 Allen Road, in Allen Park. Visitation is 5:30-9 p.m. March 1 and 2-9 p.m. March 2. He will in state from 9:30-10 a.m. March 3 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, with a funeral mass directly afterward.
